It's all beyond words...the past three weeks in Fort Worth have been truly unforgettable and incredible. I have never ever imagined that I would have come so far, it felt so unreal to me as if living in a dream. It has been a very tough process since months ago, when I first learned that I got into the competition, the tension and stress that it brought was probably the most I have ever experienced. Yet I am so incredibly grateful that the countless sleep-deprived nights of practices paid off.
It is in fact my first time in three weeks to read all of your wonderful posts and messages here, as I have been away from social media since the beginning of the competition, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank my dear parents and my most loving host parents Mr Paul and Mrs Nancy Dobkins Witt, my family and friends for all your support and love, and to Prof Eleanor Wong, for your guidance and teaching for the past 16 years, which brought me to where I am at this moment.
I would also like to express my gratitude to the The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts for witnessing my growth, and for nurturing and supporting musicians like myself in HK; thank you to Yale School of Music and Prof Peter Frankl, for the remarkable two years, where I discovered and understood myself as a musician and person at a new level.
Special thanks to Prof Piotr Paleczny, Prof Daejin Kim for all your inspirations.
and to Tom Lee Music 通利琴行, Miss Kitty Chan, Dr KS Lo and Mrs Lo, Miss Chuifun Poon, Mr Randy Kwei and the Yale Club of Hong Kong.
This journey will stay in my heart forever, thank you God!
